South West England Aberdeen Angus Calf Show

Well what a huge success the calf show was today at Sedgemoor. A huge thank you to Greenslade Taylor Hunt, Robert Venner for the use of the venue. Thank you doesn't seem enough to Jess Maynard who worked so hard behind the scenes to make this the success it was. Thank you also to our wonderful steward and commentator Bob Quantrill who made sure it all ran smoothly and everyone was in the right place at the right time!

It was a great day for the team from Temple Farm with Temple Princess Superstar taking the female and overall championship honours today shown by Grace Denning the recent winner of the junior section of the ydp final. Male champion came from the Maplejacks herd of Kevin and Gill Quinn with Rull Barnett a Wall Royal Leo son recently purchased from the Rull dispersal herd.

A full list of the winners will be posted shortly. It was lovely to have some fresh faces today and we would also like to thank the Symonds family who travelled from the West Mercia club to support us. They won the pure or cross bred class with a very smart steer by Nightingale Pickle.

Last but not least a vote of thanks to our Judge Callum Hillhouse from the Woodston Herd. Not an easy task today and in particular our young handler classes which were very strong. The winners in these sections were Kian Frain and Megan Denning.
