Our annual AGM willtake place on the 25th March 2017 al the Devon Hotel, Matford, Exeter.
As most of you will be aware Johnny Mackay has resigned with immediate effect as CEO of the Society. Chrissie Long, Promotions Manager has also resigned.
We were hoping that the current President Alex Sanger was going to speak at the AGM but following these recent events, sadly he cannot attend, Paul Westaway one of our Council Representatives
is coming to the AGM and will happily speak to us about what is going on and what the future holds for the Society. Thank you to those who have booked in already, lf you are planning
to attend, can you book numbers for the Dinner with me as soon as possible, thank you. Don't forget we are auctioning off some Angus related items tool
Tickets are f20 per person, gluten free and vegetarian option available if required.
National Show Trip Update
Sadly due to a change in the time table at the Three Counties Show where the Angus judging now takes place at 9am in the morning we are unable to offer the coach part of the
trip due to the extra costs incurred. However we are still able to offer discounted ticket prices and accommodation for those who may be in a position to travel to Malvern
independently. The format would remain the same, a full day at the show on the Friday, take in the breed and interbreed championships on the Saturday to be followed with a gala lunch with the delegates.
To enable us to continue to organize this trip firm bookings and a deposit of £50 will still need to be with me please by the 17th March. lf there is not enough interest then the trip will not go ahead.
APB Langport Visit Update
Date and time has been confirmed - 4th Aprl 2017 This is a wonderful opportunity to visit the ABP plant at Langport. Numbers are strictly limited to 12 but extra visits will be organized to accommodate everyone if
there is enough demand. You will need to be at ABP Langport for 9.30 to 9.45am on the 4th April for the tour to start at 1Oam. We will get to visit most parts of the plant and we will finish with light refreshments.
Places will be allocated on a first come first served basis, please let me know as soon as possible if you wish to attend. Once we reach our maximum the rest will be placecl on a waiting list and if demand
warrants I will organize some other dates. This takes place during the school holidays so a great opportunity for an educational visit for the kids.
Yearling Show at Sedgemoor Market
Schedules are now available and entries are being taken (Free of chargell) for the yearling show at Sedgemoor. There are plenty of classes going on, not the Angus breed classes. The Club will be having a stand there for the day, would be lovely to see some of you and I shall be offering light refreshments.
